Germination Information:  I suggest sowing the seeds directly in your garden, about 1 inch deep and 2 to 4 inches apart, a week or two after your last frost date. Be sure to provide some sort of support for the twining stems.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Description

Red noodle bean (Vigna unguiculata ‘Red Noodle’) is a twining vine to about 8 feet tall. Its pale tan to lavender flowers mature into very slender, straight, deep red pods that reach 12 to 18 inches long. They’re eaten fresh and said to have good flavor, but I haven’t yet tried them myself; I grow red noodle bean mainly as an ornamental in my own garden. It can make a fun “living curtain” on an arbor and combines beautifully with other annual vines, such as pretzel bean (Vigna unguiculata ‘Pretzel Bean’), hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus), or Spanish flag (Mina lobata). Full sun is best. Annual.

Collected in August and September 2023. At least 12 seeds. Shipping to US addresses only.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
