Germination Information: I suggest sowing these seeds directly in your garden, about 1 inch deep and 2 to 4 inches apart, a week or two after your last frost date. Be sure to provide some sort of support for the twining stems; they can climb 6 to 8 feet if space allows.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Description

Pretzel bean (Vigna unguiculata ‘Pretzel Bean’) is a twining vine with cream-colored to pale purple flowers that develop into curiously curled pods, which are edible but tough while green. The pods mature to yellow and dry to tan. At this stage, you can harvest and eat the dried seeds (pretzel beans are a type of cowpea or black-eyed pea) or use the pods for decoration. This edible ornamental is great for kids’ gardens! Full sun. Annual.

Harvested in August and September 2023. At least 12 seeds. Shipping to US addresses only.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
