Description
Both of the common names of Thalictrum rochebrunianum—giant meadow rue and lavender mist—give you a good idea what to expect from this elegant perennial. In average soil, it’s usually 4 to 6 feet tall; in rich, moist soil, it can easily reach 6 to 8 feet in height. The upright stems carry lacy leaves and are topped with airy clouds of small, pinkish purple flowers, mostly in late summer. Giant meadow rue shows off best in large groups, and/or against a dark background, such as a deep green hedge or tree or a dark-colored wall. Light shade is ideal in most areas. Perennial; Zones 4 to 7 or 8.
2022-collected seeds are sold out. I hope to collect again in September 2023. At least 15 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
