Description
If you’re a collector of odd edibles or variegated plants, or if you’re simply looking for a nice tomato to grow in a large container, ‘Sweet Splash Electra’ is definitely worth considering. Classified as a “semi-determinate dwarf,” it reaches 2 to 3 feet tall. The sturdy stems and “potato leaf” foliage had a good amount of white variegation and kept it through much of the summer—even after some other variegates stopped expressing theirs in the heat. The yellow fruits were on the small side but produced abundantly for months. I grew both this and ‘Dwarf Pico’s Pride’ (in separate parts of the garden) in 2022 and they looked very similar to me. I saved seed from both but decided to offer ‘Sweet Splash Select’ because it has a slight edge in flavor, and because it seems a bit more likely to come true from seed. If you are interested in comparing them for yourself, let me know that when you order ‘Sweet Splash Select’ and I will include some seeds of ‘Dwarf Pico’s Pride’ for free. Full sun. Annual.
Collected in September 2022. At least 10 seeds. Note that a few seedlings from each packet may end up being solid green. I suggest sowing all of the seeds and discarding any seedlings that are not true to type. Shipping to US addresses only.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
