Blue-eyed grass (Sisyrinchium angustifolium) is a lovely little addition to the garden, with tufts of small, iris-like fans of medium green leaves and dainty blue, yellow-eyed flowers in late spring to early or midsummer. Even in good garden soil, this wildflower usually reaches 8 to 10 inches tall around here. Native mostly to the eastern half of North America. These seeds are from wild plants that grow here at Hayefield. Full sun to partial shade, with soil on the moist side. Perennial; Zones 3 to 9. It is likely to self-sow if not deadheaded.
Collected in late June 2022. At least 20 seeds. PA ecotype.
