Sedum ternatum (Woodland Stonecrop) [20 Seeds]

$4.85

Germination Information: It’s easiest to start woodland stonecrop from purchased plants (that’s how I began my patch), but seeds are an option if you are careful and patient. It seems that the easiest approach is to surface-sow the tiny seeds in late fall to midwinter and set the pot outdoors for a natural chilling period.

If you sow after January, consider giving the pot an artificial chilling period of about 2 months.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Description

Woodland stonecrop (Sedum ternatum) is a lovely little groundcover for shady sites. It grows in low mats of small, fleshy, light green leaves accented with sprays of starry, white flowers to about 6 inches tall in late spring. Native to much of the eastern half of the US. Adaptable but best in partial shade. Perennial; Zones 4 to 8.

2023-collected seeds are sold out. I hope to collect again in mid to late June 2024. At least 20 tiny seeds. Very limited quantity; one packet per person. Unknown ecotype. Shipping to US addresses only.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
