Description
Reflexed stonecrop (Sedum rupestre, also known as Pseudosedum rupestre and Sedum reflexum) is a low-growing species with small, starry, yellow flowers in summer over slender, needle-like foliage that persists through winter. I collected these seeds from the well-known selection ‘Angelina’, which has bright yellow foliage that turns orange in winter. After finding many yellow-leaved offspring from it over the years, I did a test sowing and found that about half the seedlings had yellow foliage and half had the usual blue-green to light green of the species. I was surprised, since I’ve never seen any of the latter in my garden, but well, just so you know…not all of the seedlings will be bright yellow. Full sun to partial shade. Perennial; Zones 4 to 8.
Collected in mid September 2022. At least 20 tiny seeds.
