Description
Pink burnet saxifrage (Pimpinella major ‘Rosea’) produces airy, soft pink umbels usually 2 to 3 feet tall over basal clumps of ferny, bright green leaves. Bloom period is usually June and July. This uncommon perennial is so charming in a cottage garden! Full sun to light shade.
As a side note: Most years, some sort of insect attacks the seeds of many of my plants that have umbel-form flowers (like Queen Anne’s lace, and this burnet saxifrage), making it very challenging to collect viable seeds. For some reason, that insect hasn’t appeared so far in 2022, and I was able to get beautiful, plump seeds.
2022-collected seeds sold out. I hope to collect again in mid- or late summer 2023. At least 15 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
