Description
Variegated pokeweed (known as either ‘Variegata’ or ‘Silberstein’) is a stunningly showy form of ordinary American pokeweed (Phytolacca americana), with cream-splashed and -speckled foliage on stout, reddish pink, 3- to 6-foot-tall stems. Its slender clusters of small, white flowers mature to black berries. Though the species American pokeweed is a US native, it tends to self-sow freely if not deadheaded, to the point of being considered invasive in some areas. It also has some toxic properties if eaten. So please, do more research before buying if you have any concerns about these potential issues and do not order these seeds if you have any doubts about them. Full sun to partial shade. Zones 4 or 5 to 10.
Collected in October 2022. At least 12 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
