Description
I don’t know much about this pole bean, to be honest. I grew it for the first time in 2019 from seeds I received from a bean collector in northern Italy and made almost all of that seed harvest available to gardeners in the U.S. who were interested in unusual bean varieties. In 2020, I harvested some of the developing purple-streaked green pods and thought they had great flavor as a fresh bean. I believe this variety is meant for dry use, though, or perhaps both? The seeds themselves are beautiful and distinctive, with a rounded shape and a lovely lavender-purple color with darker purple swirls. Full sun. Annual.
Harvested in October 2020. At least 12 seeds.
