Also known as Hungarian rice bean, ‘Comtesse de Chambord’ is an heirloom variety that produces compact, bushy plants, with an abundance of slender pods and very small seeds (about the size of a Tic-Tac candy). Enjoy the pods fresh — the smaller they are, the more tender they are — or let them mature for use as a dry bean. ‘Comtesse de Chambord’ makes a great addition to a container vegetable garden on a deck or patio; it’s ever so much easier to see and harvest the pods when they are in a raised container than when they are at ground level. Full sun. Annual.
Harvested in August 2020. At least 12 seeds.
