Phaseolus vulgaris ‘Borlotto di Nova Ponente’ (Pole Bean) [12 Seeds]

$4.50

Germination Information: I suggest sowing these seeds directly in your garden, about 1 inch deep and 2 to 4 inches apart, in late spring to early summer. Don’t forget to provide some sort of support for the twining stems.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Please read the description as well before ordering.

Description

To be honest, I don’t know much about this pole bean, other than that its oval, marbled, deep red seeds are meant for use as a dry bean. I first grew it from seeds I received from a bean collector in northern Italy and am offering the offspring for gardeners in the US who are interested in unusual bean varieties in general, or in Italian heirloom varieties in particular. Full sun. Annual.

Collected in October 2022. At least 12 seeds.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
