Petunia exserta is daintier than most hybrids, but there is nothing demure about its brilliant red blooms. It has a somewhat open, spreading habit in the ground, so by itself, it tends to look a bit straggly, but it’s terrific tucked among other plants near the front or middle of a bed or border for pops of color. This species petunia also grows beautifully in mixed container plantings. The flowers often attract hummingbirds, too. Full sun. Annual.
Collected in fall 2019. At least 20 seeds.
