Germination Information: I recommend these seeds only for gardeners who have experience with seeds that benefit from or require a chilling period. Surface-sow in late fall to early winter. Set the pot outdoors and keep it moist so the seeds can germinate when conditions are right in spring. (The winter-sowing approach works well with this species. Seeds I sowed this way on February 26 started sprouting on May 7; your experience may vary.)

If you’re sowing after early winter, give the seeds an artificial chilling period of about 2 months.
