Germination Information: If you start the seeds (about 1/8″ deep) indoors in late winter to early spring, the plants may flower the first year. Or, you could sow them outdoors from late spring to midsummer, in which case they will likely not flower until the following year. Please be aware that germination on this species is likely to be slow and erratic, with some seeds possibly germinating in just a week or two and others appearing many weeks or even months later, so be patient.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Description

Musk mallow (Malva moschata) produces bushy, 2- to 3-foot-tall clumps of deeply lobed leaves and single pink, hollyhock-like flowers in summer. This old-fashioned favorite is practically a must-have for a sunny cottage garden. Often flowering its first year from an early sowing, it tends to be short-lived as a perennial but will self-sow if you let it, so you can enjoy it year after year from one planting. Full sun. Annual or perennial; Zones 3 to 9.

Collected in August 2022. At least 15 seeds. Shipping to US addresses only.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
