Description
Solomon’s plume or false Solomon’s seal (Maianthemum racemosum, formerly Smilacina racemosa) is a woodland wildflower native to much of the eastern half of North America. Typically reaching 2 to 3 feet tall, the arching stems carry alternate, rich green leaves and are tipped with a cluster of small, creamy white flowers in mid to late spring. The flowers develop into round, red-speckled berries that ripen to solid red in early fall. Partial shade; average to moist soil. Perennial; Zones 3 or 8.
2021-collected seeds no longer available, as they have begun to sprout in storage. I hope to collect again in fall of 2022. I collected these seeds in mid September 2021 from plants growing here in Bucks County, PA. They have been cleaned and stored in moist vermiculite in my refrigerator since September 12, 2021. Each packet will contain at least 10 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
