Description

Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus [formerly Dolichos lablab]) is a vigorous twining, ornamental vine with three-part green leaves that are shaded with purple. Clusters of purplish pink flowers starting in mid- to late summer and continuing to frost develop into chunky magenta seedpods. This vine reaches to 10 feet or more: great for quick color on a large trellis or arbor. Full sun is best. Annual (perennial in Zones 9 to 11). Full sun is best. Annual.
