Juncus effusus (Smooth Rush) [50 Seeds]

$3.95

Germination Information: Please do not order these seeds unless you have experience with sowing seeds that require a natural or artificial chilling period to germinate.

Surface-sow these dust-like seeds in a container in fall and set them outdoors; they should germinate when conditions are right in spring. If you sow after fall, getting germination can more more challenging and may require a warm period (about 1 month) followed by an artificial chilling period of about 2 months, then cool to moderate temperatures.

Note that this information will not be on the seed packet you receive.

Reaching about 2 feet tall, this clump-forming rush is handsome on the edge of a pond, in a rain garden, or in a moist meadow. Native throughout much of North America. Full sun. Perennial; Zones 3 to 9.

Harvested in mid July 2021 from wild plants growing in my meadow in Bucks County, PA.. At least 50 seeds.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
