Germination Information: I highly recommend carefully nicking the seeds and soaking them overnight before sowing to speed germination. Start the seeds indoors (1/4 to 1/2″ deep) in warm, bright conditions in mid-spring, or sow directly where you want them to grow after your last frost date. After the first year, you may find self-sown seedlings the following summer.

Cardinal climber is a vigorous, fast-growing, twining vine that can reach 10 feet or more on a large support. It produces a generous abundance of brilliant red flowers from midsummer to frost, set among deeply lobed green leaves that may take on a purplish blush in cooler weather. This easy annual is a real favorite with the Hayefield hummingbirds! Full sun. Annual vine.
