Description
‘Natsu Kurakake’ soybean (Glycine max) is a little-known soybean variety with creamy yellow-and-black seeds produced on bushy, vigorous plants. Harvest the pods fresh for edamame or let them dry for later use. Full sun. Annual.
A side note: I received a few these seeds (and those of ‘Cha Kura Kake’) many years ago and had good luck growing them for several years, then had crop losses due to rabbits and deer several years in a row, to the point where I thought I had lost both strains. I finally found some 5-year-old seeds of each in my gardening stuff and got them going again in 2020. I don’t have many seeds this year, and I can’t speak to the taste of either variety, as I have always saved every seed I could harvest. I hope to be able to provide more information over the coming years, now that I can better protect the crop from critters!
2021-collected seeds sold out. I hope to collect again in late September 2022. At least 10 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
