Euphorbia palustris ‘Zauberflote’ (Spurge) [10 Seeds]

Germination Information: I recommend these seeds for experienced seed-starters only, because they may require some patience. The easiest approach is to sow the seeds (about 1/4″ deep) in fall to early winter, setting the pot outdoors in a spot protected from mice so they can get a chilling period and then germinate when conditions are right in spring.

If you sow after January, give the pot an artificial chilling period of about 2 months.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Euphorbia palustris ‘Zauberflote’ grows in clumps to about 2 or 3 feet tall in bloom, with small, oblong leaves along the reddish stems and terminal clusters of bright yellow bracts, mainly through summer. I acquired my original seed under this name, and it’s still commonly sold under this name, but it’s definitely different from the true E. palustris; some sources classify it as E. oblongata or E. coralloides. It will self-sow. Full sun to partial shade. Perennial; hardy here in Zones 6/7, at least.

Harvested in early to mid August 2023. At least 10 seeds. Shipping to US addresses only; cannot ship to CA, OR, or WA.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
