Description
As you may guess from the common name, false rue anemone (Enemion biternatum, formerly Isopyrum biternatum) looks much like the true rue anemone (Thalictrum thalictroides). It grows in clumps of deeply lobed leaflets on slender, 5- to 8-inch-tall stems that are tipped in late winter or early spring with bright white blooms that have five petal-like sepals. This spring ephemeral dies back to the ground in early summer, returning again the following spring from its tuberous roots. False rue anemone thrives in partial shade and rich, somewhat moist soil. It is native to eastern North America. Perennial; Zones 3 to 8.
Collected in early June 2023. At least 15 seeds, packed with moist vermiculite. Unknown ecotype. Shipping to US addresses only.
