Description
‘Scarlet Magic’ tassel flower (Emilia javanica, also sold as Emilia coccinea and Emilia sonchifolia var. javanica) produces small, tufted, bright red flower clusters atop 2-foot-tall stems. Its stems are very slender and can be a bit sprawly, so they tend to work best tucked among other plants that can provide some support. To be honest, I don’t know how (or even if) ‘Scarlet Magic’ is different from the straight species, but as I received the original seeds with this name, I’m still using it for the offspring. Deadheading can encourage the plants to bloom for months. Or, leave them alone, and the first plants of the season may self-sow in summer to produce new plants and fresh blooms for late summer to frost. Full sun. Annual.
Harvested in July to September 2023. At least 25 seeds. Shipping to US addresses only.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
