Description
‘Cramer’s Burgundy’ cockscomb (Celosia argentea var. cristata or C. cristata) produces velvety, crinkled heads in a rich purplish red color on 3- to 5-foot-tall stems. Some of the plants produce a thick stalk topped with one large flowerhead; others form a smaller central head and many smaller side heads. ‘Cramer’s Burgundy’ is excellent as a cut flower at pretty much any size, and it dries beautifully as well. It is a wonderful “please-touch” flower for a children’s garden too. Full sun. Annual.
Collected in August and September 2022. At least 20 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.

Never grown celosia before, but I’m having quite a bit of luck with the two I purchased here. Germination was good for these, and the coloration of the plants is beautiful, though the flower form is nothing like what is pictured (that might be my doing though, I got them all started pretty late). The color is gorgeous.
Hi there, Kim. Based on our discussion, it sounds like there might have been a mix-up with the plant labels, as you also sowed another celosia variety. Mine all turned out with the expected flower form, so I feel sure the seeds themselves are ok. I hope you’ll consider trying again!
