‘Black Pearl’ pepper (Capsicum annuum) is prized for its ornamental qualities: its glossy, near-black leaves, small purple flowers, and shiny, clustered fruits that start out black and ripen to rich red. It’s not just a pretty face, though; if you can handle the heat, the fruits are edible, too: medium-hot when black to pretty powerful when red-ripe. The bushy plants reach about 18 inches tall and are gorgeous in containers as well as in beds and borders. Full sun. Annual in most climates.
Harvested in October 2020. At least 12 seeds.
