Ammobium alatum (Winged Everlasting) [20 Seeds]

Germination Information: Sow the seeds, just pressed into the surface of the growing medium, indoors under lights in warm conditions in early to mid-spring. The last time I raised these from seed, I started them that way on April 11 and seedlings began to appear on April 14; your experience may vary. If you don’t clip off the old flowers, you may find some self-sown seedlings the following year, or even later in the same growing season.

Note that this information will not appear on the seed packet you receive.

Description

Winged everlasting (Ammobium alatum) is a cute addition to a flower bed or border, with branching, 3-foot stems topped with small but abundant blooms. Each flower heads has papery white bracts surrounding a prominent yellow center. The main flush of bloom is in midsummer, but if you keep the spent flowers trimmed off, you can enjoy fresh flowers well into fall. You can also enjoy the blooms as fresh cut flowers, or dry them for later use. Full sun. Annual.

Collected in October 2022. At least 20 seeds.

Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
