Description
Persian onion (Allium christophii) starts the growing season by sending up broad, green leaves, then produces a stout, straight, 12- to 18-inch-tall stalk topped with a globe of starry, purplish pink flowers in late spring. In early summer, the leaves die back and the flowers finish but the globes remain as the seeds form, then the seedheads dry and can linger for months. If you leave them in place, they can self-sow. Full sun. Perennial bulb; Zones 5 to 9.
Collected in late July 2022. At least 25 seeds.
Please read the germination information as well before ordering.
