Description
Do you love hollyhocks but have trouble growing them? Consider giving this easy beauty a try. Sunset hibiscus (Abelmoschus manihot), also known as aibika, generally grows 5 to 6 feet tall over just one growing season, with large, single, hibiscus-like blooms in a lemon-sherbet yellow color from mid to late summer to frost. It’s excellent for quickly adding height to a new border while you’re waiting for more permanent plantings to fill in. Full sun for best flowering. Sunset hibiscus is perennial in Zones 8 or 9 and south, but you can easily grow it as an annual elsewhere.
Harvested in August and September 2021. At least 12 seeds.
