One great thing about having ground-mounted solar: you don’t have to wait for the snow to melt to get power back. Pulling off the snow is a bit of a workout (I use a modified roof rake), but seeing the nearly instant jump in energy production is worth it. #hayefield #solarinwinter #groundmountsolar
Obligatory snow day photos from Hayefield. A lot of shoveling, but a change of scene from packing seeds, and much better exercise. #hayefield #buckscountypa #thegardeninfebruary
A silly way to spend a snowy day in PA: making holiday gnomes, inspired by Danielle Sherry, executive editor of @finegardening
Finally, the first blooms opened on noon flower (Pentapetes phoenicea) this weekend. Here’s hoping we don’t get an early frost this year. I hadn’t intended a red, white, and blue combination, but I like how the white-striped leaves and intense blue flowers of variegated dayflower (Commelina communis f. aureostriata) wandered into the scene. #pentapetesphoenicea #noonflower #commelinacommunisaureostriata #variegateddayflower #hayefield
